CIP RC/PT Girder Help

Project Tab

The Project tab allows you to enter general information about the project and select the analysis options, design specifications, units, and loss type. You can return to this tab at any time and make changes. Note that changing the settings while working on a project may cause your project to be reset, thus causing you to lose your current analysis results.

Defining Project Information

Define general information about a project.

Selecting the Analysis

By default, CIP RC/PT Girder analyzes the Full Width of the bridge, which is based upon the aggregate properties of the entire bridge cross-section along the bridge centerline. Selecting Optional Girder Analysis allows you to optionally analyze the structure based upon the properties defined along the centerlines of individual girders. Enter the number of girders to be analyzed in the Number of Girders field. Choosing Slab (or a T-Beam) Bridge simplifies the data entry for a rectangular cross-section and performs a full width analysis.

Selecting the Design Specifications

Define the project's specifications. Default is CHBDC.

Selecting Measurement Units

Define project's measurement units. Default is Metric.

Selecting the Loss Type

  • Define the project's loss type.
Note: Use CHBDC code for calculating losses due to elastic shortening, material Creep, Shrinkage, and Relaxation.

Setting Options

Select Program Defaults or specify a settings file for User Defaults for various program options. The User Defaults can also be saved for later use.
